Hello and Happy Sunday!
We want to send a HUGE thank you to EVERYONE who pre-ordered merchandise, contributed funds and sent words of encouragement our way. Not only did we reach our goal, we EXCEEDED it! And, because we reached our goal, Indiegogo will keep our crowd-funding page up and live for more people to see and contribute! How cool is that? Continuing to have the page live means more exposure for our brand and more exposure means more sales - which is awesome! We could not have asked for a better outcome and we definitely could not have reached our goal without our village, which is all of you. From the bottom of our hearts, we say “Thank you”.
We will start production on the third and fourth designs of our Transformation Mugs this week. Once the mugs are completed, we will go into the shipment phase. At that point, our Customs Broker will take over and ensure that our precious cargo makes the journey across the sea as safely and as drama-free as possible (no hurricanes or tsunamis, please…). Once our mugs have cleared customs and travel by rail across our great nation to Illinois, our broker will clear the merchandise and we can pick it up. This entire process will take approximately six weeks, which is just enough time to have the mugs ready for shipping right before the start of the holidays. At every step and turn, we will keep you, our village, apprised of the status. It is important to us that you know EXACTLY what is happening and when.
Our clothing swag will also start production next week. We expect to have our T-Shirts, tote bags and hats available within the next two weeks. We have some exciting designs that we have yet to unveil so watch this space for news to come.
On Friday we picked up our Black Girl Magic and Natural Love mugs. Our living room and my office/sunroom are now packed full with 56 large boxes of mugs. Thankfully, many will be leaving quickly as they’ve already been spoken for and we have a few events coming up in October, which will be a great opportunity to find them new homes. Make sure to follow us on all of the socials for announcements regarding the events and expos in which we’ll be in attendance.
Today we spent some time fellowshipping with this fiscal quarter’s “Give Back” recipient, “The Unconventional Coalition”. We met them at Evelyn’s Food Love, a restaurant located on the south side of Chicago. We had such a good time listening to the young leaders of the Coalition plan for the future in a comfortable and pleasant atmosphere with amazing food. I encourage everyone to support Evelyn’s Food Love, located at 5522 S State Street, and follow The Unconventional Coalition on the "Book". They’re a group of amazing organizers that are doing great things for their community and Chicago as a whole.
That’s it for now. We’ll be back soon with an update on progress. As always, we appreciate you and thank you for being a part of our village.
Until next time,
Melanie and Timothy
