Sing A Song of PRAISE!!!
We had TWO events this past Saturday! The first was an intimate affair at the Power and Light Ministries which was a morning filled with fun and fellowship. The second was a Spirit-filled gathering at Corliss High School for the 48th Annual Musical sponsored by the United Accapella Chorus. The turnout was amazing and the excitement over our Transformation mugs, totes and Mustard Seed Faith necklaces was more than we could have ever imagined! Thank you to both Power and Light Ministries and the United Accapella Chorus for allowing us to vend at your events!
Our “Give Back” recipient, The Unconventional Coalition, have been busy striving for excellence! This group of young people are supporting and empowering disenfranchised youth through community development and outreach. On October 24th, they held their first Youth Civics Clinic at Alderman Roderick T. Sawyer’s office. It is truly an honor to support this group by giving them a portion of our proceeds, the first of which will be disseminated in November. I encourage you to follow their endeavors at www.Facebook.com/UnconventionalCoalition.
Listening and Learning
I have to take a moment to encourage you to listen to the most important person in your life – you! When your body is telling you that it’s tired, there is a reason – it needs rest! I chose to ignore that inner voice that was literally yelling at me to slow things down and take a moment to breathe. Now, this is my current situation – bronchitis, a sinus infection and, as of yesterday, no voice whatsoever. I am resting but I’m still moving – just a lot slower than I normally would (which is why this post is a day late). Most importantly, I’m learning – learning to listen to my needs and take care of myself. If I don’t, then I can’t take care of my business, which means I can't take care of you.
I'm also learning to listen to the second most important person in my life - my mom. Had I listened to her, I would have gone to the doctor sooner than I had and, most likely, would be in a much better state health-wise. Sorry mom - I'm pledging to do better. Thank you for your unfailing love and wisdom - I love you more than words can express.
Hang Out With #RoyalTee!
Because of my health, we will not be attending the two-day Women's Retreat in Danville. We are in talks to do a smaller, local event on Saturday, which will not be so taxing on my health and body. As soon as this is confirmed, we'll post the details on our website and all of the socials.
As always, we recognize that we would be nothing without the support of our family and friends. Thank you for being a part of our village - we appreciate you.
Until next time,
